Midterm exam will be held  on March 8 (Saturday) from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Exam location will be announced later.

• February 5, 2008

I will hold extended office hours tomorrow (Feb 6) from 1:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Please feel free to stop by if you have any questions about Assignment 1 or any other questions about the course materials.

• March 5, 2008

Midterm exam will be held in room 1C17 (for the students with last name starting with A-Li) and 2C16 (for the students with last name starting with Lo-Z).

Midterm exam will have two parts. In Part A you will have to answer 2 out of 3 short questions or 'True/False/Uncertain' type questions (2*10 = 20 marks). In Part B you have to answer 1 multi-part problem solving question (30 marks). There will be no choice in Part B.

Midterm exam will cover chapters 2, 3, 5 and 6 of the textbook. If you study the textbook chapters, lecture slides, class notes and work out all the questions of Assignment 1, 2 and 3, you will be well prepared for the exam.

University is closed for the day due to severe winter weather. All the exams and classes are cancelled for the rest of the day. This means that today's EC 450 midterm exam is also cancelled. Since the exam is cancelled, I will NOT hold office hours  today from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm. I will post a new exam date on the course website soon. I wish you all a safe weekend!

Here is the new midterm exam schedule. Midterm exam will be held in class (P3007) from 4:00-5:20 p.m. on March 13 (thursday).

For your information, I am NOT a part-time faculty. So, I will continue taking my classes.

Second required assignment will be posted by the end of this week.

I hold an exam review class on April 8 from 4:00 pm to 5:30 p.m. Please note that this class will be held at a different class room ( P3067).

Final exam will cover all the materials I have covered so far - Chapters 2, 3, 5, 6, 8, 14, 16 and 17.

• April 8, 2008

Final exam will have two parts:

Part A [25 marks] Two of Three short questions or 'True/ False/Uncertain' questions  – 12.5 marks each

Part B [75 marks] Three of Four problem solving / analytical question questions

You will get 3 hours to write the exam.

April 13, 2008 (Sunday): 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

April 14, 2008 (Monday): No office hours
