Theme: Computer-Intensive Econometrics

The 14th annual meeting of the Canadian Econometric Study Group will be held September 26-28 at the Ambassador Hotel in Kingston, under the auspices of Queen's University. This is the first time that the CESG has been hosted by the same university: The first meeting of the CESG was held at Queen's in 1984.

The Ambassador Hotel is a modern building with good conference facilities. We originally intended to hold the conference at the Donald Gordon Centre of Queen's University, but costs would have been unacceptably high. Since bedrooms, the meeting room, and both lunches will all be in the same complex at the Ambassador, it is hoped that interaction among participants will be high.

The deadline for submissions to CESG '97 has now passed. The theme of this year's meeting is "Computer-intensive econometrics." A revised version of the Final Program is now available. All but one of the papers can be downloaded via the final program.

Participants must make their own reservations at the Ambassador Hotel. Rooms will cost $62 (single) and $76 (double), plus 12% tax. A block of rooms has been reserved for the nights of September 26 and 27, but these rooms will not be held past mid August. Please call the hotel at 613 548-3605 or 800 267-7880 (reservations only) before mid August to reserve your room. Be sure to mention the CESG and to ask the hotel to confirm the preferential room rates quoted above.

There are many ways to get to Kingston, some much less expensive than others. Travel information is now available.
