All files are stored in ds-files.zip. It provides data files, Stata
programs, and output files. 

1. Organisation

Within the master directory should be the following folders:

2. Raw Data

The following files (all downloaded from the United States Census
Bureau website, https://www.census.gov/programs-surveys/ahs/data.html)
are in RawData. They are compressed CSV files.

The Census Bureau periodically revises these microdata files, so there
may be a more up-to-date dataset available online and using different
files may lead to slightly different results.


3. Processed Data

The following file is in AmericanHousingSurveyData (though note that
this file is created when running ReadAHS.do): AHSForAnalysis.dta

The replication files can be run without calling ReadAHS.do, which
unzips, reads, and processes the raw data.

The following file is in Data (though the Stata programs provided will
generate a version of this file): miAHSForAnalysis.dta


4. Stata Programs

The main program is 

MasterAHS.do

MasterAHS calls

  A. ReadAHS.do, which creates
	a. AHSForAnalysis.dta
	
  B. AnalyzeAHSDataMultipleImputation.do, which calls
	a. ImputationA.do
	b. ImputationB.do
	c. ImputationC.do
	d. AnalyzeMultiplyImputed.do

So long as the AHSForAnalysis.dta file is available, you do not need
to run ReadAHS.do to complete the analysis.


5. Output

The Results folder contains several files, graphs and tables, some of
which are included in the published paper or online appendix. All
files required for the paper or appendix should be produced upon
running the do files.
