Alphabetic Index to the Standard Industrial Classification, 1987 SICINDEX

The SICINDEX file lists over 30,000 types of businesses or products--or
variations in the wording thereof--along with the associated SIC code,
sorted by alphabet within sector. (Keeping the sectors separate is useful
since the same index wording may appear for different sectors, e.g., "Bicycles"
appears under manufacturing, wholesale trade and retail trade.) Several dBase
index files (.NDX) are provided that allow the SIC index to be accessed
strictly by alphabet, by alphabet within sector, by 1987 SIC code, and by
1972 SIC code. A separate file provides SIC titles.

Because the main text field in SICINDEX is so wide, type W for <W>idth when
displaying the file to reduce it to 63 characters or less so that you can also
see SIC and SECTOR at the same time.

On the MAIN MENU you may

1 Select ITEMS select text, 1987 SIC, and, if desired, suffix or 72 code
2 Select RECORDS enter desired text to search for (use ALL CAPS), or SIC
3 Add LABELS add SIC title, not just SIC, to record
4 Select an INDEX resequence index by alphabet, by 87 SIC or by 72 SIC
