for receiving the Department's Honourable Mention for his outstanding achievement.




Dr. James MacKinnon, Head, presenting Jane Coates with The James Bocking Prize which is awarded to the
student with the highest standing in Industrial Organization and Public Policy.




Trisha Casey-Purvis presents Jane Coates with the Douglas D. Purvis Prize in Economics which is awarded
to the graduating student who has written the best fourth-year seminar paper in Economics. Jane's paper
is entitled "The Price Elasticity of New Housing Supply in Canada: Modelling the Canadian Housing Market
and Estimating the Supply Price Elasticity of New Housing from 1981 to 2008".




Dr. James MacKinnon, Head, and Dr. Lorne Carmichael, Undergraduate Studies Chair, presenting award
to medalist winner Katherine Chasmar for the Chancellor C.A. Dunning Prize in Economics for the
best BAH thesis. Katherine's thesis is entitled "The Commercialization of Microfinance in Latin America".
Katherine also received the Prince of Wales Prize.




We were very delighted to have a special guest at this year's reception, Chancellor David A. Dodge,
who appears here with our two top prize winners, Jane Coates and Katherine Chasmar.
